RIGHTS OF WAY MANAGEMENT

MORTON : PATTISON deliver scheduled and reactive vegetation management such as maintaining Rights of Way for highways authorities. In one contract 27km of pathways and bridleways were cleared over 3 cuts, with additional work instructed on call-off rates. This was delivered through teams of 2-3 staff members with hand tools and flail mulching equipment, using the company 4x4s to reach some of the more difficult to access sites.

A range of other vegetation management methods are employed by MORTON : PATTISON including herbicide application and larger mowing and mulching machinery.

ACCESS IMPROVEMENTS

MORTON : PATTISON installed a variety of inclusive public access infrastructure as part of a wider 'green loop' town access improvement scheme. This multi-phase project consisted of compacted aggregate paths, boardwalk, bridges, fencing, gates and riverbank stabilisation works. 

The working methods set out in the construction plan minimised disruption to path users while maintaining our high health and safety standards.

PLANTING MAINTENANCE

As part of a larger landscaping project MORTON : PATTISON were employed by a client to establish 1km of mulched hedging across 3 sites, comprised of a mixture of bare root and potted native species. To satisfy planning conditions this included an 18 month maintenance period to cover two growing seasons during plant establishment, with scheduled monthly visits including replacement of plant protection, controlling weeds, removing litter and watering as necessary.  During the first winter any failures were replaced.
