MORTON : PATTISON were contracted to carry out large scale winter restoration work on a SSSI fen in Hampshire by removal of mature birch, alder and willow . The approach taken was for a team of hand-cutters to fell the trees followed by winching out using a tractor. Once onto drier ground a 13t excavator with grab attachment moved the trees into position for hand-processing and stacking of brash and timber.
MORTON : PATTISON acted as main contractor and along with our own staff, oversaw sub-contractors to ensure safe extraction of saleable timber, thereby reducing the cost for the client. The brash and timber that could not be sold was burned on site to remove biomass.
